I get a lotta helpful tips from really good artists here, and I appreciate them. But people, PLEASE DON'T DO THAT, 'cause most of the tips you give me, I already know, I am not stupid, I'm into art since I was like 4 years old, believe me.
I am deliberately ignoring your helpful tips, 'cause most of the time, that is just NOT my style. Over the years I developed my own artstyle. It is as follow: Quick, Simple, Less details, Onorthodox, Messy, Sloppy but at the same time Accurate. And most of the time, I only do portraits, 'cause i tried many other things like still life, photography, abstract, cartoons, collages, sculptures etc. But I just prefer portraits, ok? So please don't go like: "Your bla bla is bla bla too short and bla bla too dark and bla bla too blurry and bla bla too shady" etc. 'CAUSE I KNOW!!! OK?? Don't do that people, you are making me feel like a dumbass who doesn't know art... If you do that anyways, and I am not impressed, then your tip will be ignored. I mean, I can easily make a photorealistic portrait of someone if I want to, it just takes a couple of days/weeks and a helluva lotta Ritalin©, but I ain't gonna do that, 'cause that is not my style. If you wanna see photorealistic portraits then visit other artists who make those, I've seen a lotta über good artists around here.
Anyways, I don't wanna be a part of the herd who does everything according to the book like you do, I wanna do it on my own unique strange weird sloppy way.
You don't go around giving Picasso helpful tips either because of his onorthodox artwork, it is just HIS unique style!
So to summarize everything, this is my artstyle:
- Quick
- Simple
- Less details
- Messy
- Sloppy
- Onorthdox
- Accurate
(MASSQOL)

And if you wanna give me helpful tips regarding these 7 things, then pardon my French, but you can GTFO. 'Cause I won't change anyways, sorry. Respect my artstyle, I would have done the same.
Devious Comments
Why? Because I understand people have their own style and I wouldn't like people telling me how to draw or expecting me to change my style. I don't mind recommendations, but I will still do things my own way, thankyou very much.

So it's not like I hate advice or that I don't wanna listen to anyone. It's just that I dislike it when people seem to have an attitude of, "Hey, your style is flawed, you should do this--or better yet, try to be more like me, then your stuff will become awesome, maybe even perfect". That's more insulting than anything else.
Thankfully I haven't encountered anything like that here DA, yet anyway. At least not anything obnoxious. But I have in other places, in the past.

Yep, you should just be your self and do your thing, don;t listen to anybody else just because they seem "good" or have "authority" or whatever the hell they are or have.
Me too, not only in art but also in other stuff, like my study or work etc. but they just dont understand..

Like sometimes, I can't just have somebody standing there, explaining in great detail, about how something works, and sometimes I don't like people standing around me after they've shown me how to do something, trying to make sure I got it right. I dunno, I just learn better by doing and letting stuff click in my own brain, not by being talked at, and I hate being stared at. Makes me feel patronized and like I'm just a dog being trained or something.
Heh I'm sorry for the rambles. XD

I do take suggestions; try this color, add this, take this away, move that. But only if it's something that's genuinely not hampering my artistic style. Of course, working commissions means I often make things to other people's liking, but that doesn't mean everything. And sometimes people like the more original stuff better anyway =]
Otherwise, like you, if I don't like a critique because it's biased or cliche or cramping then I ignore it. Unfortunately there's a lot of people on dA who will attack art just for what it is. I saw an amazing "blood" filled bottle charm with a cute label on it that said "hemo gulps" and was just FAB. It had a cute story about how it was a "quick snack" for vampires...but there was a deviant attacking her art because it was "against the church" and she was a christian. Pretty sad a?
